Letters

The museum has a large collection of letters to or from Delacroix, including those sent to his cousin, the lawyer Pierre-Antoine Berryer, as well as to Théophile Gautier, Joséphine de Forget... One of the most touching letters is certainly the one written by Jenny Le Guillou, announcing the painter's death to Riesener. Along with these letters, the museum has drafts of Salon accounts, along with the master's notebooks, primarily concerning the Saint-Sulpice project.
